Pencil to Paper
Nightscapes
These paintings are based on back alleyways and playgrounds in Toronto after dark. Painted just before the pandemic hit, they are an insight into what is yet to come. All are Acrylic on Wood Panel.
My Imaginary COVID Lockdown
With a combination of drawings and photographs; I give you a whimsical story of my imaginary life during the Covid lockdown!
Into The Wild (The Pilot)
These paintings are a continuation of my series on Ontario wildlife.
I paint on top of Ontario landscapes photos that are mounted on wooden panels. I tried to create a slightly different perspective of the animal in it's natural environment.
I'm interested in creating a haunting mood with these paintings
Into The Wild
Commissions
These pieces were specifically painted for people or companies who wanted a painting to be more personal.
For example in "The Legacy" painted for a family of musicians; I asked for a picture of everything that meant something to them. Pieces of music, pictures and shows were incorporated in the piece. The larger figures are that of the grand-parents.
I have also been asked to do pieces for peoples cottages and anniversaries incorporating important pictures of family members and memories.

Strangers In A Changed Land
We know the issues of our environment are crucial.
And one of our many problems is human development erasing animal's habitats and therefore threatening the survival of many species.
I thought it would be interesting to take this idea of the world getting smaller to the limit. By creating new architecture from photos of buildings from different cultures and adding a species of animal that does not belong,
I hope to create ( if not a realistic) a thought provoking effect.

The Butterfly Effect
December 2010 by Pamela Mingo
I used the butterfly to look at movement and how when put in different environments, can affect the entire feeling of the painting; for example the delicate butterfly existing in the concrete city.
I also thought it would be interesting to use photo transfer which gives a different sense of reality than what the brush can do.
Butterflies are a great vehicle for colour and always seem to be on the move.
Movement and colour…two things I love to paint.
